Carlo Rizzi- conductor

Carlo Rizzi is one of the foremost performers of the Italian operatic repertoire. Regularly invited at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Edinburgh Festival, the Opera Bastille and the Opéra National de Paris, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Monaco, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the San Francisco Opera, the Zurich Opera House. Carlo Rizzi had just concluded a long season as Music Director for the Welsh National Opera. He has recorded for Taldec, EMI, Philips, Sony, Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, also receiving a nomintaion for the 2006 Grammy Award for the "Best Opera Recording". He recently conducted L’Italiana in Algeri in Houston, Manon Lescaut in Brussels, Puccini’s Trittico in Copenaghen.

Future plans include: La Fanciulla del West at the Opéra National de ParIS; Rigoletto and Un Ballo in Maschera at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels; Luisa Miller in Zurich; and a series of concerts in Bordeaux.
